I started my journey in the world of dancing back in the early 1980s with contradance and some Renaissance dance. A few years later, Carol Kopp began an English dance here in Cleveland, and I fell in love. As time went on, I started to help calling for the local group. Eventually, I fell under the spell of the music and was inspired to start writing dances. After a few false starts, I hit on a success in writing a dance for a dear friend, and Sherry at the Ball was born. In the last few years I have fallen more and more into the enchantment of the music.
Now that I’ve written a few more dances, I’ve decided that it’s time to share them more broadly with the wider dance community. Just click here or use the Dances link in the menu above. Please let me know what you think by clicking on the Contact link below.
Mrs. Estep’s Jegge was written for dear friend and fellow dancer, Elizabeth Estep. Many thanks to Melissa Running for a review that led to a much better version of the dance!
I’ve recently improved the dance choreography text for A Mighty Flood, and posted a video link for it. Also, the link to Carol’s Calliope is now repaired and working.
Have a look and let me know what you think.
